Urban Climbing Manifesto

Philadelphia’s underground urban climbing guide

Philadelphia Museum of Art

Peter Parker

Location: Front doors of Museum

Rock: Sandy Sandstone

Type of climb: Bouldering over cold marble steps

Description: Directly on the front doors of the museum, you will come to face what you have been searching for this whole time. Your reflection will stare awkwardly back at you. Allow what has been penched up in your deepest makings to surface. In this moment in which you face yourself, let them go and allow the two egos to battle. When your personality splits, a moment of realization will be upon you. You have just found yourself at the steps of the Art Museum.

Set Routes:
-”The Acid Test of…” V1 (Starting at front doors, climb straight up. Keep climbing higher, untill you find yourself.)
-”Corner Stone Performance” V2- (Start on sandstone crimps left of door, move up and around blank corner, reach for metal sill, but due to the power of anticipation, leaving the sill just beyond the finger tips, you can never reach the climax during a performance. FA Peter Parker Nov ‘04)
