Penn’s Landing
Location: Riverside of Marine History Museum
Rock: Formed Concrete
Type of climb: Bouldering
Description: Beautiful cityscape, even though Camden is only a river’s width away. Between the History Museum and the water there is only one problem in this area. Beautiful and committing, unlike my roomate’s girlfriend, it’s a sight to see get taken down.
Set Routes:
-”Entertain the Homeless Man” V4+ (begin on tile crimps, move into the roof. Reach back for undercling around pillar and balls-out leap for sanctuary in the “S”. FA Kia Pederson, Dec ‘04)
-”Maritime Traverse” V7 (Leaping up or working off of Maritime Roof, work your way across letters. Begin Campus Training. FA Kia Pederson, Dec ‘04)

Hey
I just wanted to let you know that Kia surely does not the FA on the route named Maritime Traverse. Scott Kinkele (RIP) and I did this back in the late 90s. Maybe 97. At night after his first steak at Jim’s.. We went for a walk afterward and were checking out some urban bouldering and he said, I bet that we can stick those letters and sure enough, He did it.. then so did I.
I am sure we were not the first (well, I am not sure, but I doubt it).
